Legato
32 exercises · tab plus a full-speed and a slow-practice recording each
Legato is the musical term for fluid, smooth playing. On guitar, this is achieved by picking only when necessary, and instead maximising the use of hammer-ons and pull-offs. Start off with just 1 exercise, learn to play it, and then click 'loop' to make the exercise repeat indefinitely. Play along with the exercise and make sure you are playing each note cleanly and smoothly, and in time. Then progress to the next exercise and repeat until you have used this technique over a couple of strings as this is where it becomes quite difficult to begin with. Master this technique by stringing together multiple legato exercises and repeat them all on a regular basis.
