Scales

The 'Scales' section includes some of the most widely used scales in two different positions on the fretboard. Every scale is demonstrated with the root note on the E string and the root note on the A string.
All of the scales are played from the root note of A but they are easily transposed to another key by simply playing the scale pattern starting from a different root note.
By starting each scale from the same note, it will help you to see the difference between each scale, both in playability and sound.
The order of the scales is as follows: 1. Major Pentatonic — root E string · 2. Major Pentatonic — root A string · 3. Minor Pentatonic — root E string · 4. Minor Pentatonic — root A string · 5. Major Scale — root E string (also known as Ionian Mode) · 6. Major Scale — root A string (also known as Ionian Mode).
